DMSPs Chart a United Path for 2026 with Resolution on Land Governance and Conflict Resolution

The 2025 District Multi-Stakeholder Platform (DMSP) Shared Learning Session, held in Bo District from 18–19 December 2025, concluded successfully with the adoption of a written 2026 Resolution of Commitment, jointly designed and signed by the Chairpersons of the participating DMSPs.
The session brought together eight (8) of the nine (9) DMSPs from across the country. Participants shared updates on their activities, reflected on key challenges, explored innovative solutions, and identified emerging opportunities to strengthen the effectiveness and sustainability of the platforms.
The event featured contributions from key stakeholders, including representatives of the National Land Commission (NLC), Welthungerhilfe, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED). Speakers commended the DMSPs for their notable achievements in resolving land-related conflicts across the country and for establishing inclusive mechanisms for collaboration with traditional authorities, government institutions, and civil society actors.
In his remarks, the Commissioner General of the National Land Commission, Mr. Abubakarra Sappeh Foray Musa, expressed strong interest in formally integrating the DMSPs into the Commission’s operational framework, recognizing their critical role in advancing land governance, conflict resolution, and community engagement at the district level.
The Shared Learning Session reaffirmed the importance of coordinated, multi-stakeholder approaches to land governance and food security, and set a clear agenda for strengthened collaboration and collective action in 2026.
